Save the evening of Friday, July 12, 2013 for some great music by local band, The Whiteboards at the Keene Elks Lodge on Roxbury St.! Rock and roll cover tunes, blues, rockabilly and a detour every now and again into the Grateful Dead will get us all dancing and having a great time as we raise much needed dollars for the Hundred Nights Cold Weather Shelter and Open Doors Resource Center at 17 Lamson St., in Keene. There is a $10 cover charge per person at the door and a cash bar, Elks style! Doors open at 7 pm, with music going from 8pm to midnight. There will be some snack type foods available, feel free to bring some to share.
All proceeds will go to the services provided by Hundred Nights Inc – warm, clean beds on the 100 coldest nights of the year are available to our homeless, and year round access at the Open Doors Resource Center to a mail dropbox, a cup of coffee, a computer to check for job listings, write a resume or check in with family, the use of a washer and dryer and so much more. Over 100 different people were able to come in out of the cold to sleep last winter, and several hundred have made use of the Resource Center so far this year.
Hundred Nights is currently trying to raise money to meet a $12,000 Matching Grant Challenge from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. We are already over halfway there, and we need your help to help us meet the challenge, raise the money and keep the doors open!
