Reaching for the Warmth of Home

Husband & Wife Volunteering

Meet Gary & Charri Henricksen! Their ongoing support, time, and compassion has helped create a safe, welcoming environment for our community.

Gary began volunteering with his wife, Charri, in the kitchen, on holidays and when she needed an extra hand. Gary’s interest was piqued and he began looking for other opportunities that could benefit from his professional experience in fundraising. For the last year, Gary has been supporting our Fundraising Team and has joined the Hundred Nights Board. In Gary’s words: “Becoming unhoused could happen to almost anyone, and it is so important to have a shelter in our county that offers not only beds and food, but also counseling, connections to resources and human warmth. I really enjoy talking to our donors, because they are such passionate supporters of what Hundred Nights is doing.

Charri began volunteering for in January of 2024 and says, “ I really enjoy interacting with the guests and cooking and serving lunches. Working with other volunteers has been a big plus for me too. There are so many special people working to make Hundred Nights a place of warmth, shelter and hope. I am inspired whenever I walk in the door.”

Both the Henricksen’s want to support Hundred Nights in providing a warm, welcoming space as being unhoused can happen to anyone.  We truly could not do this without volunteers like The Henricksen’s!
